This is a Cornish Granite Cross and Double grave. The Cornish granite was in a very weathered condition, with ingrained lichen and dirt, and required a complete clean-down, scrubbing with water. The concrete bed had disintegrated and needed to be replaced. The kerbs had come apart within the grave space and required re-pining and re-fixing. The inscription was virtually illegible as over time the weather had gradually lifted the lead inscription. This required repair and making good as well as re-painting.
