Henry Flintoff dies, aged 89

The members of the VC and GC Association would like to pass on the very sad news of the death of Henry Flintoff who died this morning. Henry had, for many years, been a much loved member of the Association and his cheerfulness and kindness lifted the spirits of all who knew him. Henry lived most of his life in Pickering, North Yorkshire and, loved the countryside and aviation in particular. He brought joy to all who met him and was unfailingly appreciative not only of others small kindnesses to him but of life itself. In recent years Henry suffered from the degeneration of his eyesight and other health problems but these rarely dampened his spirits. Our thoughts and love go out to all his sisters and wider family who loved him deeply and our gratitude to those who cared for him at the end. Henry will have a private funeral and cremation at a later date.
