Mourning Her late Majesty

The Members and Trustees of the VC and GC Association, of which Her late Majesty had been Patron since its formation in 1956, were profoundly saddened by the death of our Sovereign Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen, throughout her glorious 70-year reign, had been an inspiration to all, not only in the U.K. and the rest of the Commonwealth but across the World. Her Majesty had dedicated her reign to serving this Nation and the Commonwealth with total dedication, courage and faith. Our grief is shared by hundreds of millions across the Globe, as demonstrated by the numbers who watched her State Funeral live on the television. Her life of selfless service as a true inspiration to us all. We are united in our gratitude for her steadfast leadership and for her boundless patience, compassion and service. Her loss was not only a grief for our Nation and the Commonwealth and the World but also and most obviously a great loss to all the members of her Royal Family, for whom we continue to pray and to whom we send our deepest condolences. God Save King Charles III, whom we are honoured to have as President of this Association.
