The death of Derek Kinne GC

Derek Kinne GC died yesterday, 6th February, at 08:14 local time (15:14 GMT) surrounded by his family in Tuscon, Arizona, after fighting a long battle with cancer. Derek was a very much loved member of the VC and GC Association from its outset, attended reunions until his last in 2014, and will be remembered for his love, kindness, humility and his unique perception of life and indomitable spirit. He was a man who knew that greatness lay in his fellow-man and his true happiness was with the family he loved so much. In the words of his daughter, Deborah, someone like Derek doesn't die. He was a great man whose legend will live on. Our thoughts and prayers are with his beloved wife, Anne, and their family.
